Private: Cardiac Stress Testing
Private: Cardiac Stress Testing
A cardiac stress test is performed to evaluate the performance of the heart when it’s placed under increased demands. An exercise test or a chemical test might be used to evaluate the EKG, heart rate, and blood pressure.
Cardiac stress tests may be used following a heart attack, surgery, or a stent, to determine a safe level of activity and exercise.
Colonoscopy / Endoscopy
Prevention is key. Our non-invasive imagery techniques can help detect and diagnose cancers of the colon and digestive tract. The risk of colon cancer increases as you age. If you’re over 50, we recommended you get your colon screened.
An electrocardiogram (EKG) is a test that checks for problems with the electrical activity of your heart. An EKG shows the heart’s electrical activity as line tracings on paper. The spikes and dips in the tracings are called waves.
An EKG is done to:
• Check the heart’s electrical activity.
• Find the cause of unexplained chest pain or pressure.
• Find the cause of symptoms such as shortness of breath, dizziness, fainting, and heartbeats that are rapid and irregular (palpitations).
• Find out if the walls of the heart chambers are too thick.
• Check how well medicines are working and see if they are causing side effects that affect the heart.
• Check how well mechanical devices that are implanted in the heart, such as pacemakers, are working.
• Check the health of the heart when other diseases or conditions are present including high blood pressure, high cholesterol, cigarette smoking, diabetes, and a family history of early heart disease.
Hemorrhoids are a fairly common condition. Many Americans, men and women alike, have them and may not even notice. But when a hemorrhoid swells and causes problems, you’ll notice. Roughly 50% of folks with hemorrhoids will bleed, experience pain, or exhibit other symptoms by the time they turn 50. And women may get them during pregnancy.
What Are Hemorrhoids?
There are groups of veins in and around your anus and lower rectum that stretch when pressured. When those groups of veins swell or bulge, they’re called hemorrhoids. You can get them inside or just on the edge on the outside of your anus. They’re usually not serious, but they can be unpleasant.
What Causes Hemorrhoids?
Folks are more likely to get hemorrhoids if they spend a lot of time on the toilet. Unusual heavy lifting can also be to blame. Hemorrhoids are more common as you get older and when you’re overweight or pregnant. If your parents had them, you may get them, too.
One of the most common signs of hemorrhoids is painless bleeding from around or inside your anus when you go to the bathroom. You might notice a little blood on the toilet paper or in the bowl. Your bottom may itch, hurt, or have tiny bulges around your anus.
Hemorrhoids may not be the only reason for these symptoms. Always consult with Dr. Rettig and his staff before self treatment.
You have questions, and we’ll get answers. Our in-office lab services point straight to the problem, so that we diagnose and treat ailments quickly and effectively without dealing with the transit and waiting period for laboratory processing facilities.
Rettig Family Health Care is a full service clinic which includes a laboratory. The benefit of this is we can conduct many of our own labs and examine the results on premises. Faster test results expedites your treatment and expedited treatment leads to a healthier life quicker.

Nursing Home Care
Many nursing home staff suffer from a lack of onsite physicians for evaluating acute medical conditions of their residents. Additionally, many of nursing homes are frequently operating with a minimal number of licensed nursing staff based on state and federal regulations. Even worse is that a very large number of these licensed nurses have minimal experience and skills at performing acute clinical evaluations of patients and a bulk of their time is taken up by supervisory matters such as monitoring care plans, documenting charts and other paper trail maintenance which is important to regulatory agencies and top priority to the facilities’ administrations.
Rettig Family Health Care can provide a physician to monitor yours or your loved ones progress while they are at their nursing home. This ensures the best medical care and the most comfort.
Pulmonary Function Testing
Is there a weight on your chest? Troublesome breathing can be associated to allergies, asthma, and many other underlying health conditions. We will determine how much air your lungs can inhale, and exhale. Relax. We’ll figure things out
Testing for Vertigo
Is your world spinning? If you’re suffering from unexplained dizzy spells and feel the earth moving under your feet, you might have an undiagnosed inner ear condition. Fluid imbalances within the ear canals can make you feel nauseated and lightheaded.
Physical therapy and balance exercises can help straighten things out.
