Job Summary:

Help to coordinate the assignments of the patient services staff in order to promote efficiency within the office.  Oversee the day-to-day functions of the office and ensure that all tasks are carried out with accuracy and timeliness. Provide exceptional customer service by greeting, directing, instructing and assisting patients to assure efficient patient flow while maintaining HIPAA rules and regulations.  Ensure demographic information is complete and accurate.  Utilize the appropriate insurance codes, admit services and financial classes when admitting patients.  Practice HIPAA compliant rules and regulations.  Assist with other clerical duties.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Possesses skills and knowledge in the following areas:

  • Must be able to read and write the English language in a legible and understandable manner.
  • Must possess basic computer skills.
  • Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such actions.
  • Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with patients, physicians, insurance companies and personnel.
  • Must be knowledgeable of medical practices and procedures, insurance plans.

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent; Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, work experience in lieu of education will be considered.
  • Minimum of two years relevant experience preferred.
  • Bilingual preferred.
