Job Summary
Limestone Medical Center is seeking an experienced Emergency Department Director and Trauma Program Manager Registered Nurse. The Emergency Department Director and Trauma Program Manager will play a vital role in the growth and development of the Emergency Department and Trauma Program. He/She will participate collaboratively with key stakeholders including process owners, organization leaders, and physicians. They will be responsible for emergency department and trauma related performance improvement, ensure pediatric readiness, injury prevention, emergency preparedness, education, research, outreach, and trauma registry operations.
The applicant will be responsible for developing and maintaining both the emergency department and trauma program quality assurance performance improvement (QAPI) measures, implementing new processes to improve quality, and tracking metrics to prove quality of care.
They will write and edit policies and procedures to guide the provision of evidence-based care for patients. They will maintain responsibility for the accreditation process, medical record auditing, and overseeing the trauma registry.
The Manager works with the Trauma Medical Director and senior facility leadership in preparing for and maintaining designation by the Texas Department of State Health Services and/or verification by the Texas EMS Trauma & Acute Care Foundation (TETAF).
Minimum Qualifications
Education: Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing.; Bachelor’s degree or educational plan to complete preferred.
Licenses/Certifications:
- Current State of Texas license/permit to practice professional nursing; BLS, ACLS, PALS or the Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course (ENPC), and
- Maintains current Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNCC) or Advanced Trauma Course for Nurses (ATCN).
Experience / Knowledge / Skills:
- Five (5) years of clinical trauma care in the hospital setting and two (2) of progressive supervisory/management experience.
- Effective oral and written communication skills and the ability to work both independently, and in collaboration with groups.
- Have initiative, be reliable, and can handle a sometimes fast-paced working environment.
- Knowledge of computer software including: word, excel, power-point and outlook programs.
- Understanding of trauma scoring scales to include AIS and ISS.
