Family Medicine Center is looking for a full time candidate to work on insurance verifications, VA authorizations and referrals for Radiology and Specialists. Insurance and referral experience required. Must understand HMOs, PPOs, VA, Medicare and Medicaid policies. Must be able to communicate with patients to explain about copays , deductibles and primary care physicians. Must be able to assist patients in changing PCPs if needed. This candidate will be responsible for insurance verifications for patients along with assisting on referrals for Radiology and other specialists. Must understand the difference between HMOs and PPOs. This candidate must be a team player and willing to help others. Must be able to multitask. Good communication on the phone is also a must. Positive attitude and willingness to learn and share knowledge with rest of team. Communication between team workers is a key to success. An insurance verification specialist is a health care professional working to ensure that patients' health care benefits cover required procedures. This person contacts a patient's insurance company to verify coverage levels and works with individuals to educate them on their benefits information. Knowledge of ICD 10 codes and CPT codes is also a requirement. Must be organized and detailed.
