RN – Emergency Department (Night Shift FT)

Job Title:        Registered Nurse (Night Shift)

Department:   Emergency Department

Summary:      Performs the primary functions of a professional nurse leader in assessing, planning, directing, and evaluating patient care in emergency nursing. Manages all supplies and equipment and supervises LVNs or other clinical personnel that work in the Emergency Department.

Responsibilities & Duties:

• Ability to perform triage and prioritize patient care based on triage levels.
• Conduct detailed clinical assessments and prioritize patient needs.
• Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure the patient receives the best care.
• Assist in the management of patient admissions, transfers, and discharges.
• Provide patient education.
• Ensure accurate and detailed documentation is completed within the EHR

Job Qualifications:

• Education: Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing
• Personal Job-Related Skills: Demonstrate ability in nursing practice. Leadership and management abilities and effective oral and written communication skills.
• Licensure, Registry, or Certification: Registered Nurse licensed by the State of Texas; Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification, Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certification, and Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) completion card.
• Experience: One year experience as a Registered Nurse, preferably in the emergency department.
